Sell Me Yesterday introduces us to a world where “living in the past” isn’t simply a figure of speech– it’s a literal possibility. Thanks to a drug called Nemo, users are able to relive their happiest memories. Perhaps it’s the intimate connection of an old relationship. Maybe it’s the precious times spent with lost loved ones, or even the simplicity of childhood. With shades of a reverse “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” meets “Severance” with a little bit of “Breaking Bad” thrown in, Sell Me Yesterday features a dynamic contemporary rock score and explores the ways in which memory is an ever-shifting, unreliable force shaped by our tendencies to romanticize the past when we’re unhappy in the present.
